Each year, people spend billions of dollars on clothing
and accessories. In 2006 alone, the U.S. Census Bureau reports
that nearly $215 billion dollars was spent on such items.
But what many people don’t realize is that choosing
the right clothes can make a world of difference. Clothing
is more than just what one happens to throw on for the day.
Rather, it can make a statement about who someone is, what
style they possess, and even how bold and successful they
may be. That’s why a personal stylist is so important;
they help people put together a successful image that matches
their lifestyle and goals.
“My clients are always happy, once I have worked
my magic,” explains Bobbi Schwartz, founder and CEO
of The Bobbi Schwartz Group, a Dallas-based personal styling
company. “Parents teach young children how to match
clothes. Beyond that, people don’t get much training
or explanation about clothing, style, or how important it
is to dress for success.”
Clothing can have a big impact on someone’s career,
their level of confidence, and how they are perceived by
others. Even the colors they choose can leave a lasting
impression. Knowing just how important it is to be well-dressed,
Bobbi has spent over two decades working in the fashion
industry. She has such an eye for style that she has even
designed hotel interiors. A well-respected wardrobe consultant,
Bobbi is an expert at dressing clients and is currently
the official personal stylist for the Ritz-Carlton, Dallas.
Additionally, she has served as a consultant for such notables
as Ralph Lauren and Forty Five Ten.
“When I tell people what I do, they often assume
I merely pick out some clothes for a client and simply hand
them over,” says Bobbi. “That would never work.
In order to dress someone well, I need to assess what is
in their wardrobe, see what they are missing, and learn
about their lifestyle.”
Bobbi works with each client individually to match their
wardrobe to their way of life. When all is said and done,
she provides the client with a customized booklet that makes
snappy dressing a breeze.
“One of the fastest ways to increase self confidence
and achieve a new outlook on the world is a change in one’s
clothing,” adds Bobbi. “What we wear has an
incredible impact on how we feel and how others see us.
It’s important to make sure we are always putting
our best possible image out there for the world to see.”
